NUAST students showcase their entrepeneurial talents

On Saturday 25th February 2017 the NUAST Young Enterprise team consisting of Beth Worthington, Mohammed Oukil, Aman Farooq and Adeel Razzaq had the exciting opportunity to showcase their entrepreneurial talents and trade at the Old Market Square, Nottingham alongside 16 other schools. A range of products was available from the Young Enterprise teams represented and the NUAST leavers hoodies attracted significant interest - a truly scalable and commercial product. Head boy, Mohammed Oukil was really pleased with the response they had received. He said 'the teams decision to choose the leaver's hoodies as their product had proved successful. Other schools had chosen items such as candles and sweets to market. The hoodies were a truly marketable product and the interest in purchasing them from other schools, nurserys and organisations was excellent.'

Beth Worthington explained that 'as a new school in Nottingham lots of people had stopped to discuss the school, the opportunities offered and their own experience. Lots of people took information about the school.'

The Young Enterprise Company Programme allows young people aged 15-19 to set up and run a real business over an academic year. Students make all the decisions about their business, from deciding on the company name and product, to creating a business plan, managing their finances and selling their products. The scheme allows to put their classroom learning into practice.

Well done team NUAST.
